The Love Formula data analysis evolved from an independent survey examining whether couples who remain together exhibit closer alignment in Values and Traits compared to those who break up. The survey was administered through Survey Monkey.​

The survey comprised three sections:
  1. Personal Profile: Age, sex, and relationship status
  2. Values: Self-evaluation and partner evaluation
  3. Traits: Partner evaluation

Top Values for Men – By Relationship Status

Across various relationship statuses, Honesty/Dependability/Reliability consistently remain the most important Value for men, reflecting a strong need for trust and stability in their partnerships. In ongoing relationships, men also prioritize Education/Knowledge/Street Smarts, Communication Style/Manners, Financial Choices, and Occupation/Work Ethic/Self-Discipline, highlighting the importance of intellectual compatibility, financial stability, and personal responsibility. After a mutual breakup, Family Values and Self-Care/Personal Hygiene/Cleanliness become more significant, suggesting a focus on personal well-being and integrity within familial interactions. When men initiate the breakup, Occupation/Work Ethic/Self-Discipline, Communication Style/Manners, and Pursuing a Greater Purpose gain importance, signaling a desire for ambition and shared life goals. Men who are broken up with highly value Family and Religious/Spiritual Values, underscoring a preference for deep, meaningful connections. During a break, men equally emphasize Honesty/Dependability/Reliability, Family Values, and Education/Knowledge/Street Smarts, reflecting their focus on trust, family, and intellectual alignment in uncertain times.
